Youth Engagement

Reach and keep young people involved with youth engagement built with them, not for them.

Co-design, advisory groups, training and strategy across the South West WA.

You know young people should be at the table. We make it happen.

Trying to genuinely involve young people can sometimes feel like a challenge. Encouraging people to come to meetings, the "consultation" that ticks a box but changes nothing, the worry that you'll get it slightly wrong and lose trust you've spent years building.

Hand it to us, and that weight lifts. We've spent years getting young people through the door and keeping them there so it everyone gets something out of what’s on offer. You bring the goal, we bring the experience, the local networks, and the lived credibility with the community. We work alongside you, not over the top of you, so the end result feels like yours.

Why youth engagement is worth getting right

Young Australians are carrying more than any generation before them; almost two in five people aged 16–24 experienced a mental disorder in a single year, the highest rate of any age group.¹

Engagement that's authentic, youth-led, and built on trust is one of the most protective things a community can offer. Done well, it lifts participation, builds trust, and makes everything else you do more relevant.

Proof & Credentials

Why organisations across the South West choose us

  • We know the local landscape. We're well networked with local councils, businesses, government agencies, and not-for-profits, with deep sector knowledge across the Greater Bunbury region and wider South West.

  • We're peer-led and youth-informed. Young people and local communities help design and lead what we do, which is exactly why our programs land where generic, top-down offers don't.

  • We measure what matters. Our work draws on evaluation and learnings from the Blue Leaf Initiative, with evaluation partnerships involving UWA and The Kids Research Institute, so you get evidence you can put in front of a funder or a board.

  • We're built for inclusion. Our approach is designed to reach rural and remote communities, First Nations young people, LGBTQIA+ youth, and people with disability.

  • We're aligned with the big-picture priorities. Our work maps neatly onto the National Suicide Prevention Strategy 2025–2035 and the National Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy which is handy when you're writing your own funding case.
